Toronto, Canada – GAO Research Inc.  has launched its economical, flexible and reliable Soft-modem for Set-Top Boxes (STB). The soft-modems are designed to be compliant with specific ITU-T standards and yield comparable reliability and quality to traditional hardware modem chipsets. GAO’s soft-modems run on a DSP or microprocessor along with other control software and require an analog front-end.

GAO’s modular, re-locatable and reentrant soft-modems support multi-channel capability and improved for all common embedded hardware platforms. They support most commercial analog front ends (AFE) as well as various discrete DAAs with codes, depending on the application.

The higher-speed modems including V.34, V.90 and V.92, have maximum downstream data rates of 33.6kbps, 48kbps and 56kbps respectively. Cable Modem Tweaks – Boost Your Connection Free

Don’t you find it annoying that whenever you are in a middle of research or online surfing, the connection suddenly stops?
