NETGEAR DGN2000 Wireless-N Router with Built-in DSL Modem
Powered by WP Robot
After spending 1 1/2 hours trying to get this to work, could not connect with AT&T. Customer service was very good and tried to help, but in the end told us to return the product. Don’t waste your time.

tried the netgear to replace my Actiontec DLS modem and router. Big mistake, I follow all the manual instruction of upgrade firmware, input DSL provdier password and name and then no internet, no wireless and after 5 hours of trying to work it out, finally revert back to Actiontec modem and router but my shared landline is completely blown, no dial tone, and the line is busy. Apparently, Netgear modem in setting up the lines did something to my share landline which worked perfectly with Actiontec but now even reverted back to the original modem and router, still no signal from shared landlines.
so be careful in upgrading to this product from Verizon. Hopefully, this review will save you some headache and having to call and paid for a Verizon technician to fix the landlines. By the way, I have tried all the tricks in the trade of unplugging the phone lines ,recycling the router and modem. so now, I have only DSL and internet and no landlines. Setting up a dsl modem and router should not this difficult.

We purchased this router to go with our brand new wireless N laptop. The laptop was running on a G network and connected very quickly. I followed the directions competely, called their customer service, worked with them for over three hours and still today my wife has called me three times today saying it loses connection. The connections are very sluggish. It seems like it is fighting itself.
We have a brand new $1,300 laptop and it is still not working correctly. It connects fine when it is wired, but the wireless system is completely unreliable. Their customer service seems to be trying to assist, but you can tell they are just reading the troubleshooting guide to you. I can do that!!!

I should have written this review right after installation, it would have been more helpful to y’all. But here the skinny. The thing has been working like a champ for the last couple months. The kicker is the setup.
Just like one of the other reviews, when I initially set this thing up, it would connect and then disconnect, back and fourth. Very nightmarish. I did *not* try to call the company, so unlike those people who had trouble with the support, I can’t comment.
I wish I could remember exactly what the key was to solve the problem, and I’m really sorry I cant. This is what I do know. I’ve setup a number of wireless AP’s in the past and thought I knew what I was doing: bad idea. After the problems, I went back to the beginning, read the manual all the way through and then started from the beginning. Oddly enough, the thing worked fine. I know there was something the manual had me do which I had failed to do during the initial attempt, but I don’t remember what it was.
Upshot is, I love the thing. It’s fast, it’s up, and I don’t have to deal with it … ever. I paid $105, it’s $89 now. I’d have no trouble recommending this thing.

First, let me start by saying that I am better than your average Joe with computers. Installation & setup appeared to be easy at first. However, I spent 2 days trying to get it to work. It would not register an IP address and I had all my DSL account info handy. After a 2-hour call with tech support, I was online. However, my laptop was no able to pick up the wireless signal. It kept getting a phantom signal. Long story short, I returned it for a refund and addes a D-link DI634m Wireless N router which i am very pleased with so far.
