I bought the SB6120 to replace my older Moto SB5100 (Docsis 2.0) that was starting to fail. I immediately noticed a speed improvement running Comcast's speed test. The only complaint I have is that this model does not have a button to disconnect the modem from the Internet like my older modem did. So now it stays on the internet 100% of the time unless I want to power it off from a power strip or be sure that I turn off all my computers on the network.

This cable modem works great! Easy setup and real speed improvement. The one problem is that linking it to an old CompUSA wireless router has been very complicated - compatibility and drop on/off issues finally led to buying a new router....there should be a way to ensure better backward compatibility.

Not sure if it has increased my speed much, but it is working fine after having contacted Comcast to register the device on the network.

Do not buy from Electronica Direct.

These people are not honest. I recently bought a Motorola SurfBoard Modem SB6120 from Electronica through Amazon.

It has stopped working within a week.

Electronica pocketed the money. Refuses to give a refund.

I'm sure this is a very good product, but neither Motorola or Cox Phoenix are willing to help actually use the product, so unfortunately this review cannot be better.

The Issue - This modem is not supported by Cox (Phoenix Metro) as they do not believe it has even been launched yet. Having gone through several departments at Cox they were unable to initialize the modem for use with their service, as the modem is not on the master list in their system.

Motorola are unwilling to contact Cox in order to assist resolve the issue, so I am going to be forced to return this one to the store (Not Amazon) from which it was purchased.

Good luck with this and your service provider.
