The initial setup is very simple.Product works OK.It has a few “Quirks” that can be easily worked around or with tech support easily resolved. I am not really that please with it for the price !!!Other than needing it for EVDO device it is over rated. You can configure your own EDVO device to work without this device however this does give a bit more security. The WORST thing about this is that the antannae are not detachable and can easily break off and the range and signal are NOT that good at all !!!. I would suggest waiting for them to upgrade it to a better model and with detachable antannae and definitely lowering the price !!! Sprint is coming out with their own EDVO mobile router…hmmm sure hope they or others will work better and you get the satisfaction of what you paid for.

The 1000 works wonderful. Easy to use. Mine stopped working using 2 different laptops. Direct connecting great. After 4 days and 2 phone calls. Support doesn’t much have an idea. Tried both laptops at another 1000 router. Works perfect. Support just acts like they don’t care to even try.
I have been using a D-Link DIR-450 for over a year, however since I got two 3G connection; I bought this to load balance. However I have to re-boot this at least once every day. We never had to do it with D-link, I am pulling this out to put the D-link back on with just a single WAN connection.
I tried updating the firmware to the latest, did not help. Connection never goes down when the dongles are connected direct to the laptops or to the D-link. So my conclusion is Cradle point is not stable. When I go to admin panel it shows as the link is active, however I either have to disconnect and reconnect, reboot the router or pull the dongle out and plug it back in. I do not recommend this, I highly recommend D-link DIR-450 (only drawback is it only supports one WAN line).
The MBR1000 does exactly what Cradlepoint says it will do, and I will say that it provides a great 300mbs consistantly. I’m one of those people who is held captive by lack of good high speed internet. Comcast comes within 1000ft of my home but refuses to wire any further unless each house on the block pays them $2800 each to lay the lines, ditto for AT&T supplying DSL.
So in order to get a decent internet speed I had to use the Verizon WiFi setup which required the MBR1000 to provide service inside my house. The MBR is set up for very nearly every WiFi USB modem you can think of and the list is constantly being up graded unlike with Kyocera’s products.

Read the fine print!
This router does NOT work with a PCMCIA/Cardbus-type air card, because it has no such slot. It only works with an Expresscard or a USB type.
I had to pay to upgrade my Cardbus card to a USB model, in order to use this router.
